Be Internet Legends

Representatives for Google visited our school, with local MP, Luke Pollard, in order to speak to the children about E-Safety. Using 'Interland' to help them, our visitors reminded us how to use strong passwords and what information is and isn't right to share. It was a really fun way to pass on a really important point.

If you would like to play the games related to the talk, then visit the following site: https://beinternetlegends.withgoogle.com/en_uk

Titanic News Reports

We have been learning about the Titanic and which different circumstances led to its demise. The children enjoyed the story of the ill-fated ship. As well as several different oracy activities, the children created a news report on the Titanic using a green-screen. Maybe in a few years, we'll see a few of these budding reporters on BBC News.

Dot, Dash, Dot, Dot, Dash, Dot, Dot

As a part of our topic on inventors, we had a look at morse code. This is an important part of our history and a great invention by Samuel Morse which was used greatly during World War 2.
The children had to design circuits using buzzers and switches in order to send messages using 'dots and dashes'. From here, the children then played a game of battleships. It started friendly, but then became competitive very quickly!
